Sgt. Ralph Carrothers

A member of the second platoon assault team of Co. L 309 th Infantry, 78 th infantry Division, Sgt. Carrothers unit captured 6 German pillboxes and a troop shelter in less than 4 hours while taking over 70 Germans captive. Three weeks later Sgt. Carrothers was instantly killed by a shrapnel burst in his side.

Sgt. Ralph Carrothers is buried at Plot D Row 4 Grave 59 Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
